Assassins Creed 3 Officially Announced And Far Cry 3 Set For Release On September 7th

Ubisoft yesterday gave an update on the future of two of their biggest upcoming titles by confirming their release dates – the long rumoured Assassins Creed 3 will be released on October 30th, and Far Cry 3 will be hitting stores on September 7th.

The announcement of Assassins Creed 3 was made in a Ubisoft conference so we do not have any further tantalising details, apart from the rumour that the studio is going to be investing in the game heavily to try and get it to outsell the last game, Assassins Creed Revelations, which has shifted over 7 million copies since its release last November. I would just like to point out that since Assassins Creed 2 was released in 2009, we have had a game every year plus multiple spinoffs – I think they are kind of saturating the market a bit.

Far Cry 3 on the other hand was announced with a brand new CGI trailer, titled ‘Stranded’. Apart from looking superb, it also features the crazy guy that we first met in the E3 trailer last year, and features plenty of swearing, action and annoying dubstep music in the background. Far Cry 2 was a bit of a letdown, but I have high hopes for this one – It also helps that it will be released on my birthday, so I think I already have a present confirmed…
